Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of homemaintenancekings.com, free accounts, our newsletter, the free 12-Month Maintenance Calendar and other downloads, and The Kings Plan. The site is operated by Rip & Ride LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. General maintenance information

Our guides, calendars, downloads, emails and Kings Plans are general home maintenance information. Homes, equipment and local codes vary; always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your equipment. You decide whether a task is safe for you to do. Don't attempt gas, electrical, roofing or other hazardous work yourself; hire a licensed professional. We don't inspect homes and we are not a contractor or home warranty company.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account or make a purchase.

3. Free accounts

• Accounts are free. You need a verified email address and a password.
• Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly if you think it's been misused.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or are used to abuse the site.
• Account holders receive account emails (verification and password resets), plus one email when the Kings Plan is available only if they ask for it. The newsletter is separate and optional.

4. The Kings Plan

• When available, the Kings Plan is a yearly subscription at the price shown on the Kings Plan page in US dollars, paid in advance through our third-party payment provider.
• Your plan is built from the answers you give in our questionnaire. We don't visit or inspect your home, so the plan can't account for conditions we don't know about.
• The plan includes a printable 12-month calendar and one task email at the start of each month for 12 months. You can stop the monthly emails at any time with the link in each one, without cancelling the plan.
• Plans don't renew automatically unless you choose auto-renewal at checkout. If you do, we'll email you at least 7 days before the renewal charge, and you can cancel from your account or by email.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

4a. Downloads

The free 12-Month Maintenance Calendar and member downloads are free for personal use. You may print and share them with your household, but not resell or republish them.

5. Email

We send the newsletter only to people who sign up and confirm by email, and you can unsubscribe at any time. See our Email and Anti-Spam Policy.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, sign up other people without their permission, submit false information, interfere with the site's security or operation, scrape it in bulk, or send spam or harmful content through our forms.

7. Our content

The site's text, guides, downloads and Kings Plans are owned by Rip & Ride LLC and protected by copyright. You may print or save pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please link to us rather than copying our content.

8. Links to other sites

We may link to other websites, such as manufacturer, government and safety resources. We're not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that following our guides or plans will prevent any particular failure, damage or repair.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rip & Ride LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, arising from your use of the site, guides or The Kings Plan, or from decisions you make based on them. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or The Kings Plan is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Rip & Ride LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless the law of your state of residence gives you the right to bring it where you live.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is material, we'll notify members by email. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
